CAMP INFORMATION
Tutti Chamber Music is a faith-centered chamber music day camp (no overnight accommodations) in DuPage County, Illinois. Daily activities will take place at Grace Community Church of Lombard, IL. Activities will begin on June 24th and end on June 29th with a final concert by campers for family and friends. Each day begins at 9 AM with hymn singing and devotionals, and chamber music rehearsals will be supplemented by special workshops and masterclasses.
Each young musician will be placed in a chamber group (3-6 players) based on skill level and age compatibility with other students. Placement will happen before camp and music will be sent out ahead of time so that notes are learned before arrival. We prioritize standard group placements (string quartets, piano trios, etc.) and building strong ensemble skills through the standard repertoire.

SERVICE PROJECTS
Tutti Chamber Music seeks to build community-minded students, and we prioritize a hands-on service project and a performance-based service project each year.
LESSONS, PERFORMANCE, AND TECHNIQUE
Tutti Chamber Music believes that beautiful ensemble playing begins with strong individual musicianship. To that end, each student receives 2 lessons over the course of the week (teacher preferences can be notated on the application form). We will also offer instrument-specific technique sessions and pedrformance classes. Please bring a polished piece that is ready to perform and any pieces you are currently working on.
WORKSHOPS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
In the spirit of chamber music, we plan to host special workshops and events that strengthen important chamber music skills! Here are a couple favorites:
Sight-Reading Party: No chamber experience is complete without some all-out sight-reading parties!
Tutti Scales Competition: Never fear, the scales competition is back! Scale stations to emphasize all aspects of scales are returning with prizes and bragging rights available for grabs.
FAQ's
Is Tutti a Christian Camp?
Tutti espouses Christian values and was founded with the intent to share the good news of the gospel and encourage young musicians in their faith. The faculty is entirely comprised of Christian musicians. However, Tutti is not an exclusive "church" camp; all faiths are welcome! Just know that the faculty is praying for and encouraging each student to grow in faith and that we want to both celebrate and acknowledge God as the source of our music!
What is Hymn Sing?
Hymn Sing is a time to connect as a community each morning. We believe that music is a gift from God and that as stewards of that gift, we are called to pursue excellence and also a grace of giving (2 Cor. 8:7). All faith backgrounds are definitely welcome at Tutti, although all faculty come from a distinctly Christian perspective, and we hope to encourage one another in this time through worship and topical explorations of music in today's world!
My child will only be able to attend for part of the week and can't make the final concert. Can he or she still apply?
Each student has a unique part in a group and all members must be present at the final performance. If you cannot make the final performance, please contact us first to see if there are any opportunities for your child!
